Lucy Hale talking about getting sober
Over the years, the actress has openly shared her ordeal with sobriety and how she has struggled with substance abuse. In 2023, while featuring the ‘The Diary of a CEO’ podcast, Hale opened up about her journey getting sober. She commented at the time, “I have never talked publicly … about being sober. I have a little over a year of sobriety. I have been working on getting sober since I was 20. I’m 33. It takes time. It took time. It took patience with myself.”She also shared at the time one of the reasons why she started drinking more regularly. “I just held on to that belief that real Lucy came out when she was drinking. Guess what? Real Lucy did come out, but it was that rage and pain that I had been holding on to for so long, and it also quieted my mind. My brain just doesn’t shut off, and it’s exhausting.”Over the years, she has continued to stay away from substances, and she also makes sure to celebrate her milestones every year.
