Stock Market Today Live Updates: Sensex jumps over 200 points after opening weak; Nifty50 trades flat

Asian equities showed a broadly negative trend, with Taiwan, Shenzhen and South Korea among the sharper decliners. Taiwan’s index fell 846.34 points, or 1.81%, to 46,041.43, while Shenzhen declined 233.36 points, or 2%, to 11,440.466. South Korea’s KOSPI dropped 65.38 points, or 1.18%, to 5,484.92. Japan’s Nikkei lost 471.67 points, or 0.75%, to 62,221.49, while Shanghai fell 23.57 points, or 0.64%, to 3,666.906. Malaysia’s index declined 0.37%. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng and New Zealand’s NZX 50 slipped 0.08% and 0.09%, respectively. Australia’s ASX 200 bucked the trend, gaining 0.12%, while Thailand’s SET index and India’s Nifty 50 were unchanged in the snapshot.
