Chaitra Navratri 2026 Day 9: Maa Siddhidatri, rituals, mantra and significance
One of the most auspicious days of Navratri is the final and ninth day, which is exclusively devoted to the Goddess Siddhidatri. Devotees perform puja and give prayers to the Goddess. According to panchang, the day falls on Shukla Paksha’s Navami Tithi in the month of Chaitra. Today, March 27, 2026, the last day of Navratri will be observed and Ram Navami will be celebrated across the country.
Navratri 2026 Day 9: Significance
The Hindu scriptures state that when all the gods were worshiping to the Goddess on the ninth day of Navratri, the Goddess manifested as Siddhidatri. They showed their gratitude to Goddess Siddhidatri, who bestowed upon all the gods and they all requested Maa Durga to come to save them from demons anytime they would be in need. Everywhere in the nation, it is observed by following proper rituals and customs. For Hindus, this day is very important. Additionally, it is believed that those, who surrender themselves fully to Goddess Siddhidatri would be blessed with happiness, prosperity, and Goddess will fulfill all their desired wishes. Maa Siddhidatri is the one, who grants all the wishes of the devotees. In order to achieve siddhi, tantriks and sadhaks worship the Goddess and receive the blessings of Maa Siddhidatri.
Navratri 2026 Day 9: Puja Vidhi
Devotees wake up early in the morning and take a holy bath before preparing for the Navami tithi. A large number of people in North and East India perform Kanya Pujan on this auspicious day to express their gratitude to the Goddess, and devotees offer prayers and bhog prasad to the Goddess first. People invite the nine little girls at home and worship as nine incarnations of Goddess Durga. They clean their feet, apply tilak and tie mauli, the sacred red thread and special food is cooked and given to them along with gifts. Many people engage in various religious and spiritual practices including yajnas and mantra chanting.
