Choreographer-filmmaker Farah Khan had a hilarious reaction after being called the ‘number one YouTuber’ during her recent visit to vlogger Saba Ibrahim and her husband Khalid Niaz’s new Mumbai home. Farah, who ventured into YouTube during a break from filmmaking, immediately turned towards the camera and apologised to comedian and YouTuber Samay Raina.

Farah Khan recently featured in Saba Ibrahim’s vlog during a visit to Saba and Khalid Niaz’s new home in Mumbai. While giving Farah a tour of the house, Saba showed her the YouTube play buttons she had received in recognition of her channel’s milestones.Saba also expressed her hope of receiving a Diamond Play Button in the future. Farah appeared doubtful about the possibility, following which Saba pointed out how quickly Farah’s own YouTube channel had grown.“You began vlogging after us but have surpassed us all,” Saba told Farah.

Saba went on to praise Farah’s content and the effort she puts into her videos.“People love your hard work and the love with which you make your videos. You also make them fun,” she said.Khalid then joined the conversation and said, “I think she is the number one YouTuber right now.”Farah immediately protested the claim. Folding her hands towards the camera, she jokingly said, “No, no. Samay Raina, sorry. There are so many big YouTubers like Sourav Joshi, too.”Saba then clarified that they were referring to Farah as the number one YouTuber among family audiences. Farah appeared to accept the explanation, turning the exchange into one of the lighter moments of the vlog.
Farah Khan’s YouTube journey began during a filmmaking break
Farah Khan started creating YouTube content in 2024 with her longtime cook Dileep, who has also become a popular face among viewers of her videos. She began the channel during a break from filmmaking and quickly built an audience with informal celebrity interactions and cooking videos.Her videos often feature celebrities cooking their favourite dishes and sharing candid conversations. Over time, the channel has also attracted brand collaborations.Several Bollywood personalities have appeared on Farah’s channel, including Ananya Panday, Janhvi Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Akshay Kumar, Saif Ali Khan, Govinda, Chunky Panday, Karan Johar, Sonakshi Sinha and Manish Malhotra.
Why Farah Khan turned to YouTube
Farah Khan has previously spoken about why she decided to explore YouTube while she was not directing films. She is married to filmmaker Shirish Kunder, and the couple have triplets, Czar, Diva and Anya, who were born in 2008. Speaking on the Prime Video talk show ‘Two Much’ with Kajol and Twinkle Khanna, Farah explained that YouTube offered her an opportunity to try something new while she was taking a break from filmmaking.“Even when my movie was not happening, when I wasn’t directing, I said chal (come on), let me do YouTube. Also, I have 3 kids who will go to university next year, and that’s bloody expensive. So I just said, for a change, let me start a show on YouTube, and that just clicked.”Her children have since started college, while Farah’s YouTube journey has continued to grow alongside her work in the entertainment industry.Farah’s last directorial venture was ‘Happy New Year’, which released in 2014. Since then, she has remained active in television, films and entertainment projects, while her YouTube channel has become another prominent part of her professional journey.
